I-29 south of Sioux Falls now open

All lanes of of Interstate 29 south of Sioux falls are open for travel, according to state officials.

Both lanes were closed off Monday night into Tuesday morning due to flooding. Southbound lanes opened Tuesday morning; as of 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, northbound lanes were open as well.

Water remains along the shoulder of the interstate near mile marker 61, and motorists are urged to use caution.

Numerous other highways in the area affected by the storm may remain flooded in places. Motorists are asked to visit safetravelusa.com/sd or to call 511 to check the latest road conditions in their area.
