One person is dead after a crash in Sioux Falls involving a 13-year-old driver.

Sioux Falls police say they responded to an injury accident around 5:45 p.m. at the intersection of 6th St. and LaSalle Ave.

Officers say a 13-year-old juvenile male was driving a 2014 Ford Fusion east on 6th St. and attempted to make a left turn onto LaSalle Ave. The 13-year-old struck an oncoming 2007 Harley Davidson heading west driven by Jason Alan Rollings, 37, of Sioux Falls.

According to police, Rollings was transported to Sanford Hospital for leg injuries, which at the time of the accident were believed to be serious but non-life-threatening. The juvenile was released to his family.

Police say Rollings developed complications as a result of the accident and died sometime Tuesday night.

Charges are currently pending against the 13-year-old, including reckless driving and driving without a license. Police say additional charges may be added at a later date.
