Inmates continue assisting in cleanup efforts in Wessington Springs

The community of Wessington Springs is not going to let Mother Nature win. Everyone is pulling together and helping each other to pick up the pieces. Gov. Dennis Daugaard has ordered the use of Department of Corrections inmates and staff members to continue assisting with clean up efforts in Wessington Springs.

Twenty minimum-security inmates from Sioux Falls and three South Dakota State Penitentiary staff members were deployed this morning. The crews are working under the direction of the South Dakota Office of Emergency Management.
