Camp High Hopes in Sioux City Iowa just opened in 2012, providing year round respite care and camp programs for special needs children.
Today, campers and their families got a special visit from a hometown legend.
Chicago Bulls star Kirk Hinrich visited the new facility for the first time today, signing autographs and taking pictures with all of the campers.
Families attending said that despite his height, Hinrich was very down to earth.
Hinrich says he is just excited to be here and see the facility and the campers in person.
Heinrich will also be playing in the Sioux land Hy-Vee Golf Benefit tomorrow where all the proceeds go to Camp High Hopes.
The camp serves families in South Dakota, Iowa and Nebraska.
