The Brandon man Minnesota State Patrol says hit and killed a bicyclist in Minnesota will appear in court Wednesday.

Christopher Weber, 25, will make his first appearance before a judge in Rock County court in Luverne, MN at 1:30 p.m. Weber is facing vehicular homicide charges in the death of Andrea Boeve, 33, of Steen, Minn.

Troopers say Weber was distracted by his cell phone when his pickup hit Boeve, who was bicycling down Minnesota Highway 270. According to the State Patrol, Boeve was obeying all rules of the road.

Boeve was also pulling a cycling trailer with her two daughters, ages one and four. They were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.
