Two suspects in Sioux Falls casino robbery in custody

Two suspects have been arrested for a weekend casino robbery in Sioux Falls.

Police say two men robbed the Crown II Casino on W. 12th St. early Sunday morning. One suspect walked into the casino, asked if he could cash a check, and left after being denied. Shortly after, a man came in with a towel over his face and robbed the casino at gunpoint.

According to police, outside surveillance video shows the suspect who robbed the casino get into a car driven by the man who asked for his check to be cashed. An employee of the Crown II was shown the surveillance video; she told police she recognized both suspects.

One suspect, Richard Dukes, 48, of Sioux Falls, was arrested Monday night. Police say Dukes drove the getaway car. He was charged with 1st Degree Robbery.

Another suspect, Phillip Lewis, 29, of Sioux Falls, was arrested Wednesday night. Police say he was the suspect who walked into the casino and robbed it at gunpoint. Lewis was charged with 1st Degree Robbery.

Nobody was hurt in the robbery.
