Posted: Updated:
Three suspects have been arrested following an investigation into a drug bust in Mitchell.

Police say a methamphetamine lab was discovered Monday at an apartment at 814 N. Windsor St. Other residents of the apartment complex were temporarily evacuated during the investigation.

According to Mitchell police, Susan Normile, 20, and Donald Kindt, both of Mitchell, were arrested and charged with possession and manufacturing of a controlled substance. Lindath Stone, 38, also of Mitchell, was charged with ingestion of a controlled substance and aiding and abetting the manufacturing of a controlled substance.

Officers say Normile and Kindt lived together with a one-year-old child at the apartment the bust took place in. The child was taken into protective custody.

The apartment building is just a block from Mitchell High School.

Manufacturing of a controlled substance and aiding and abetting the manufacturing of a controlled substance are all class 4 felonies, punishable by up to ten years in prison and a $30,000 fine for each count.

The Mitchell Fire Division and The South Dakota Division of Criminal Investigation assisted with the investigation.
