Last week we told you about a little boy selling sugar free lemonade to raise money for diabetes; this Saturday he finally got to share his proceeds at Tour de Cure.
Saturday's bike race raised money for the American Diabetes Association, which works to find a cure for diabetes.
Little River McKenzie has diabetes; he and his team wanted to raise $10,000 for Saturday's Tour de Cure.
Before River started his lemonade stand, they were about $1,000 short, but River's mom said they made $900 from the stand and had a few other donations to help them meet their goal.
"I had no idea we'd be that successful, people were so generous, they'd come up to the lemonade stand and they'd throw a $20 bill in the bucket. People were so supportive and they loved that the money was going to a great cause," said mom Bethany McKenzie.
The McKenzie's say they're grateful so many people came together to supper her son and Saturday's Tour de Cure for Diabetes research.
