Posted: Updated:

ABERDEEN, S.D. (AP) - A South Dakota native poised to become the youngest person to fly around the world by himself is back in the United States.

The Aberdeen American News (http://bit.ly/1nt4Imr) reports that 19-year-old Matthew Guthmiller is expected to finish circumnavigating the globe Monday night. He landed in Hawaii on Saturday and is getting maintenance before finishing his journey in El Cajon, California.

Guthmiller embarked from California May 27.

The Massachusetts Institute of Technology sophomore planned to make 20 stops in 13 countries on five continents in an attempt to become the youngest pilot to circle the globe alone.

Guthmiller's flight will help raise money for Code.org, a non-profit website that helps teach people about computer coding.

The final leg of his journey can be tracked on Guthmiller's website www.limitless-horizons.org.
