Race fans in Rock Rapids are happy to have the Rapid Speedway up and running again after a second near closure this year.
When the season first started, it took the whole town to get the track back on its feet after the previous owners announced it was closing for the year.
Then after a triumphant opening season, things took a turn for the worst when the flood waters came in June. Homes and businesses were destroyed by the floods and the race track was buried in water, but once again the community came together to bring back the track.
The track had been closed almost a full month, but that didn't stop racing fans from showing their support. There were over 500 people attending on July 11th when the track re-opened.
