Aberdeen man dies in crash near Mina

Aberdeen man dies in crash near Mina

MINA, S.D. – An Aberdeen, S.D, man died in a two-vehicle crash on U.S. Highway 12 about two miles east of Mina on Thursday, July 17.

Maury Victor Morisch, 48, was eastbound driving a 1999 Pontiac Grand Prix when the vehicle crossed the centerline and collided with a westbound 2010 Peterbilt semi-truck.

The Pontiac came to rest in the westbound ditch. The truck, driven by Mark Richard Conrad, 53, of Wilmot, S.D., came to rest on the eastbound shoulder.

Morisch, who was not wearing seatbelt, died at the scene. Conrad, who was wearing a seatbelt, was uninjured.

No further information is immediately available.

The South Dakota Highway Patrol investigated. Brown County Sheriff’s Office, Aberdeen Police Department and Aberdeen Fire Department assisted.
