Posted: Updated:
Back-to-School season is in full swing as families are getting their kids ready for a new year.

With that, organizations in Sioux Falls are throwing a free back-to-school fair to help families help students get the year off to a good start. It's a joint effort between Coalition for a Drug-Free South Dakota, Dakota Drug & Alcohol, Prairie View Prevention Services, First Premier and Avera.

The Celebrating Families: FREE Back to School Fair is a one stop shop full of essential services from health screenings to information from Sioux Falls Fire Rescue, and more than 30 service providers on-site to answer questions. Information, displays, and fun activities for families. There are free student health screenings, vision screenings, dental tips, safety tips, parent information, school information, community resources and involvement tips. Don't miss the free kid's new socks and underwear giveaway. Children must be present with parent or guardian for the giveaway. A FREE LUNCH is provided starting at 11:00 a.m. until it's gone!

Children who attend with a parent will receive a package of socks and underwear. While supplies last, each child will receive a package of their choice.

The event will be held Saturday August 9th at the Washington Pavilion in downtown Sioux Falls. Doors open at 10:00 a.m. and close at 1:00 p.m. For more information, call 605-331-5724.
