CFB: Coyotes ready to battle the Ducks

Posted: Updated:
The USD defense will get it's toughest challenge of the season in their opener at Oregon, they face one of the nation's best college quarterback back in Heisman Trophy candidate Marcus Mariotta.  The underdog Coyotes are going in for a fight.

"You know, I don't think I have ever coached against top three team in the country, but you know its a great experience and something these guys can tell their grand kids about." says head coach Joe Glenn.

"It's going to be a crazy experience playing in a stadium like that but we are looking forward to it." says quarterback Kevin Earl.

The Oregon Ducks are a national title contender, and they want to put on a good show in their home opener.  Even though they expect to win big, as always they won't overlook the FCS Coyotes.

"Very desciplined team, good offense. They should be good." says Oregon head coach Mark Helfrich.

"We don't see a lot of offenses like theirs, but they are good in their set up." says Oregon linebacker Rodney Hardrick.

The trip to Eugene will be a big payday for USD.  For the players, it's a chance to play on a big stage, and to see where they stack up against a number of NFL prospects.

"I'm looking forward to it.  We won't see that kind of speed in any other game, get the tough one out of the way early. " says USD linebacker Keyen Lage.

"You hear about how good these teams are but until I actually see it, you know i gotta see it." says defensive lineman Drew Iddings
