Posted: Updated:

KSFY News will hold the first televised debates between South Dakota's candidates for U.S. Senate.

Democrat Rick Weiland and Independents Larry Pressler and Gordon Howie have accepted an invitation to discuss the issues important to voters in a live debate.

The hour-long debate will take place Wednesday, September 10 at 7:00 p.m. on KSFY.

Republican candidate Mike Rounds declined an invitation to take part in the debate. His campaign staff cited scheduling conflicts, as well as the number of joint candidate events already taking place as reasons why he cannot attend.
