KSFY has learned a Mitchell youth baseball coach and Sunday school teacher accused of rape was released from jail Monday at 10 a.m. after posting $25,000 bond.

Ronald Dahme is also being accused of raping more boys than initially charged with.

According to a Mitchell Police Department detective, the latest victims reporting abuse indicate that it happened long ago. The alleged incidents are so far back that it's beyond the statute of limitation. That means that 45-year-old Ronald Dahme probably can't be prosecuted for these crimes.

The latest information now brings the known number of victims to five total.

It appears that the investigation is starting to wind down, as the number of people coming forward with additional information is dwindling. Mitchell Police Department Lt. Don Everson said, "We don't anticipate every victim to come forward in this case because of the embarrassment and other factors, but we believe the actual number of victims is significantly more than where we're at now."

Investigators say these latest victims played for Dahme on his youth baseball team.

At this time, Everson says there are no other direct allegations to check out, but investigators say Dahme came in contact with hundreds of kids during his time as a coach.

"Where it's going to end, we have no idea, but I don't think we're even close to the number of victims that are actually out there," said Everson.

Despite Dahme's arrest, Everson says some in town are still unwilling to believe the once popular coach could have abused children.
