The National Weather Service's Storm Prediction Center  issues daily severe weather outlooks to inform you of the potential of severe weather. 

  • The day 1 outlook will cover from now until 7 AM tomorrow.
  • The day 2 outlook covers 7 AM tomorrow until 7 AM the day after tomorrow.
  • The day 3 outlook covers the entire day and night of the day after tomorrow.

Severe Weather Outlook Descriptions

 1.       SLGT-(risk) Implies well-organized severe t-storms are expected but in small numbers and/or low coverage.

 2.       MDT-(risk) Implies a greater concentration of severe t-storms, and in most situations, greater magnitude of severe weather.

 3.       HIGH-(risk) Almost always means a major severe weather outbreak is expected, with great coverage of severe weather and enhance likelihood of extreme weather
