The following are descriptions of summer severe weather warnings:

TORNADO WARNING
Issued when tornado has either been sited by a storm spotter or been detected by doppler radar.


SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING
Issued when thunderstorms develop or occurring in or near a warning area. 
These storms can produce dime size hail (3/4 inch diameter) and/or damaging wind (58 mph or greater) and can, at times, spawn tornadoes.


FLASH FLOOD WARNING
Issued when urban and small stream flash flooding is imminent or is in progress.
