Sunny, Cold Today... More Snow On The Way

2/21/2018 - From KSFY TV Meteorologist Shawn Cable:

I hope you're not tired of the snow yet, because we have more on the way as we head toward the weekend. Before the snow however, we have to deal with some cold.

Bundle up this morning! Temperatures are below zero and the wind chill factor has dropped to between 20 below and 30 below zero in many places. A Wind Chill Advisory is in effect for most of South Dakota north and west of Sioux Falls through 10 AM. Today will be sunny, but the sun won't warm us up much. High temps will only reach the mid to upper teens this afternoon. That's almost 15 degrees below average for this time of year.

The first of two snow producing systems will arrive tomorrow. Snow will develop tomorrow morning and continue through tomorrow afternoon into tomorrow night. Accumulation of about 2 to 3 inches is possible. Patchy freezing drizzle is also possible at times tomorrow afternoon and tomorrow night.

The second system will bring even more snow on Saturday. Accumulation of an inch or two is possible on Saturday. Fortunately, it won't be terribly windy with either system. The wind will hold to around 5-15 mph from now through the weekend.

You can expect a dry, slightly warmer weather pattern as we head into next week. High temps will reach the low to mid 30s on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday.
