RAPID CITY, S.D. (KSFY) – Authorities say an 18-year-old man died Monday in a one-vehicle crash south of Rapid City.
His name is not being released pending notification of family members.
According to the Department of Public Safety, a 2007 Chrysler Town and County van was traveling on South Dakota Highway 79 near mile marker 72 just before 9:15 a.m. when the vehicle went through a wooden fence.
The man, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the DPS.
The South Dakota Highway Patrol is investigating the crash. Other agencies on scene were the Pennington County Sheriff’s Office and Rapid City Fire Department.
