IONA, S.D. (KSFY) - Authorities say one person died early Monday morning in a one-vehicle crash south of Iona in Lyman County.
The name of the deceased is not being released pending notification of family members. He was the only person involved in the crash.
According to the Department of Public Safety, a 2006 Hino FB truck was northbound on South Dakota Highway 47 around 3:30 a.m. when the driver failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway. The driver lost control of the vehicle which crossed the southbound lane, entered the west ditch and rolled onto its top.
The 34-year-old driver was pronounced dead at the scene. He was wearing a seatbelt, the DPS said.
The South Dakota Highway Patrol continues to investigate the crash.
