40th International Shotokan Karate Federation National Tournament in Sioux Falls over the weekend

The 40th International Shotokan Karate Federation National
Tournament is November 3-4 in Sioux Falls at the Arena.

This tournament is attended by individuals from all over the USA, of all ages and all Karate ranks, from beginners all the way to higher ranking Black Belts.

They come representing their different regions having placed in their different regional tournaments and are now competing to possibly represent the USA at the World Shoto-Cup Tournament to be held in
London, England.

Shotokan Karate is a Japanese martial art which, through intense
training, stresses the principals of building character, to endeavor and to excel, to be faithful (reliable and trustworthy), to respect others and to refrain from violent behavior.

Saturday is the elimination rounds beginning at 9 am and go on for
the entire day until the contestants have reached the Finals (NOTE: Youth and Children's Finals are completed on Saturday.)

Sunday, beginning a 1 p.m. are the adult finals. This goes until the
final champions are established.
