STORM LAKE, Iowa (KSFY) - Authorities in Storm Lake, Iowa have arrested six residents on child endangerment charges.

Officers arrested Khemphorn Sriharath, 33, Kesone Sriharath, 31, Phetsamon Sriharath, 21, Bounving Chanthavysouk, 55, Vanly Sriharath, 53 and Nathan Sriharath, 18, Tuesday on three counts of child endangerment causing bodily injury.

The family members and acquaintance of the father are accused of abusing three children ages seven, eight and 11 over an extended period of time. One allegedly told the children that the person "wished they would die."

According to a press release from the Storm Lake Police Department, the children went to live with their father and his family after their mother was deported from the United States several years ago.

Police said they allegedly beat the children with household items such as hangers, kitchen utensils and shoes.

The children have been removed from the home by the Department of Human Services. Forensic interviews and medical examinations were conducted, which police said revealed evidence of ongoing physical abuse and injury to all three children.

All six suspects are being held on a $15,000 bond.
