ABERDEEN, S.D. (KSFY) - Several law enforcement agencies throughout the state have been given awards from the Attorney General's Drug Control Fund, which is funded by drug forfeiture money.

The award money distributed for this most recent cycle totaled $188,593.

The Aberdeen Police Department received a nearly $54,000 grant to mount a turret on its MRAP vehicle.

Police said on Facebook that the turret does not have a gun, but provides ballistic protection for officers when they need to access the top of the vehicle for visibility.

Nine other law enforcement agencies across the state also received grants for lab equipment, vehicles, electronics and weapons.
