WATERTOWN, S.D. - The American Barnstormers Tour will be in Watertown Thursday through Saturday. The public is invited to go to the Watertown Regional Airport from 9:00 AM until 6:00 PM to see historic planes built between 1927 and 1931.
There will be biplane rides from 9:00 AM until 6:00 PM daily. Rides are $80 per person for a 15 minute ride. Each plane holds up to two passengers if each guest is under 200 pounds. If you ride individually, the plane ride is $125.
There will also be static displays of airplanes. Each day, organizers will highlight a static display for about 30 to 45 minutes. Pilots will share their story of the plane and will then open up questions to the public. On Thursday, that will be at 1:30 PM and 4:00 PM. On Friday and Saturday, those spotlights will be at 10:30 AM, 1:30 PM and 4:30 PM.
The Barnstormers Tour is a chance for people to experience the difference between traveling in an airplane and flying in a biplane. The tour only stops in Jefferson City, MO; Ames, IA; Brainerd, MN; Eau Claire, WI; and Watertown, SD.
