BRANDON, S.D. - Brandon has been named the safest city in South Dakota for 2019.
The report, released by Safewise, a home safety review company, uses recent FBI crime data to come up with its rankings, as well as noting population and income figures.
According to the report, Brandon has an average of zero violent crimes per one-thousand residents.
Madison and Brookings are second and third, respectively. Belle Fourche, Tea, Sturgis, Box Elder, Aberdeen, Spearfish and Watertown round out the top 10.
