Brown County Fair runs through Sunday in Aberdeen

ABERDEEN, S.D. - You can find out why the Brown County Fair is called "The Star of the Midwest" through Sunday, August 21st. Admission to the fair is free as well as parking. The fairgrounds are located at 400 24th Avenue NW in Aberdeen.

The midway is open on Friday and Saturday from 1:00 PM until 11:00 PM and on Sunday from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM. You can get carnival tickets for $33.

The 6th annual tailgate contest will be held Saturday in the NE parking lot. The judging will be at 2:00 PM and the winner will get $300 and a trophy.

Country band Montgomery Gentry will perform in the Grandstand at 8:00 PM Friday night. Canaan Smith will open for the band. Avenger Joe will perform Saturday night right before Jake Owen hits the stage. There will also be a fireworks show Saturday night at the fair.
