(KSFY) - The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics men's basketball championships are coming to Sioux Falls, with the help of two local universities.

Dakota State University and Northwestern College in Iowa will serve as co-hosts for the 2018 and 2019 NAIA Division II Men's Basketball Championships. The Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls will serve as the venue for the games, which will run March 7-13 in 2018 and March 6-12 in 2019.

According to DSU, this is the first time the NAIA National Championship will be in South Dakota since the NAIA Women's Golf National Championships took place in Rapid City in 2010.

Both DSU and Northwestern participate in more than a dozen sports in NAIA.
