Feeding South Dakota encourages wearing orange September 13

It all starts with a day and a color. This year, Hunger Action Day is Thursday, September 13th. On this day, Feeding South Dakota encourages you to wear the color orange to bring awareness to those who are hunger secure in the state.

Here are some hunger action month events going on:

Statewide, Governor Dennis Daugaard has issued an Executive Proclamation to reflect that Thursday, September 13th, 2018 is "Hunger Action Day" in South Dakota. This proclamation signifies the importance that hunger awareness has in all 66 counties in South Dakota and the support Governor Daugaard grants Feeding South Dakota to continue to feed those who are struggling with food insecurity.

In Sioux Falls, Feeding South Dakota will partner with USA Today at Sioux Falls' first Food Truck Mash-up on Saturday, September 29th. Feeding South Dakota staff will be available to discuss the issue of hunger in our state as well as have children's activities including balloon creations from "Twisted Chick".

In Rapid City, Feeding South Dakota will be at the Black Hills Farmer's Market. Stop by and see us to learn how you can get involved with the mission to end hunger in local communities.
