WATERTOWN, S.D. (KSFY) - Investigators in Waterntown are trying to figure out what sparked a fire at a John Deere dealership Monday night.
Heavy black smoke alerted crews to the shop area of Kibble Equipment around 8 p.m. Much of the building and the equipment inside suffered heavy fire and heat damage, but crews managed to keep the flames out of the main office area.
Still, this fire happened at the worst possible time.
"Right now it's corn harvest, go time for every farmer," Titan Machinery Ag Service manager Colton Wientjes said. "It gets difficult to service your customers. They are tough people over there, and they will rise up. every business does, they will stand above it."
The cost of the damage to Kibble Equipment is still being tallied, but investigators expect it to be very high.
