SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KSFY) - A building on West 12th Street in Sioux Falls that was home to Kmart for decades is now on the market.
Van Buskirk Companies is looking for a new tenant for the 75,000 square foot property that sits on six acres of land.
"It’s a great opportunity for a big box retailer looking for prime exposure on a busy retail corridor,” Ryan Tysdal of Van Buskirk said in a press release. "West 12th Street has some of the highest traffic counts in the City with over 33,000 vehicles per day — and over 50,000 cars per day on nearby Interstate 29."
He said initial leasing conversations are already beginning with a few potential tenants.
The Kmart closed last spring after Sears Holdings Corporation, which owns Kmart and Sears stores, made the announcement in January. It was the last one in Sioux Falls.
