Great Bear gives people with a visual or mobility impairment the ability to ski

Sioux Falls, S.D. - It’s an exciting weekend out at Great Bear Ski Valley in Sioux Falls as they host their adaptive weekend.

It gives people who have a visual or mobility impairment the opportunity to experience what it is like to ski.

Great Bear partners with the Sioux Falls VA and Sanford Health to make this event possible.

Skiers said a weekend like this is so important because it gives everyone the opportunity, no matter what you think your disability might be, to do exactly what others people are getting to do.

“We’re just being like everybody else,” Blind skier Nick Pavel said. “We all want to have a good time. We just want to be in the world. Just do everything as normal as possible and skiing I feel is definitely one of those events as well.”

Great Bear also offers private adaptive lessons throughout the season.
