Have you ever wondered: What can you buy with $1.6 billion?

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KSFY) - Several staff members at gas stations in Sioux Falls say their favorite part of selling Mega Millions tickets is hearing what people plan to do with the money if they win.

But what can you actually buy with that kind of money in the Sioux Falls area?

First stop -- a new ride.

"Cadillac CT6, and it's the platinum edition," sales consultant Doug Vogel said.

There are three on the lot, each worth $90,000. The Cadillac Escalade though can be more expensive from $90,000 to $110,000.

Or maybe Mercedes is more your style. The GLS 550 is $101,000.

"Cruise control that keeps you the set distance from the vehicle in front," sales consultant Carol Morken said. "If you go into another lane, it's going to actively pull you back over."

But maybe you want something you can feel like a race car driver in. The BMW X5 is a measly $90,000.

"You can drive this vehicle daily leisurely or you can take it on the track," Morken said. "I've had them out on the track -- they're pretty fun. Let's be honest, at $1.6 billion, you could probably buy my whole entire inventory."

What about something that never goes out of style?

"Diamonds are definitely timeless," The Diamond Room partner Alon Spektor said.

Which is a good thing to hear when you see the earrings are $35,000, some bracelets $20,000 and a four-carat necklace -- the cheapest -- at $8,000.

But where are you going to put all of your new things?

"Beautiful two-story walkout home on a 1 1/2 acre lot on the south side of Sioux Falls," Eric Harms with Hegg Realtors said.

In more than 7,200 square-feet you can get your workout in, become a sharp shooter, and at the end of the day make your own espresso.

The house is on the market for 1.65 million. So technically, you could buy multiple.

"If you took all the homes that were currently for sale on the MLS, you would have only spent $263 million to buy all of them," Harms said.

But lets take it even further...

"If you took all of the homes that have been sold this year, to this point, you'd have bought 3,400 homes, and you would have spent about half your budget, about $800 million," Harms said.

So you would still have enough for the cars, the diamonds -- because we all know they are a girl's best friend -- and still have enough to give to a charity of your choice.

The Mega Millions drawing will be at 10 p.m. Tuesday night.
