UPDATE: Motorcyclist killed in I-29 crash in Sioux Falls

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KSFY) UPDATE, 8:45 a.m.

A 25-year-old man is dead after a motorcycle accident on Interstate 29 in Sioux Falls.

The crash happened around 12:35 a.m. Tuesday near the 12th Street overpass.

According to Department of Public Safety Spokesman Tony Mangan, a 2003 Honda CBR600 was headed north when the driver lost control and was thrown from the vehicle. He died at the scene.

Troopers say the victim was not wearing a helmet. His name has not been released.

The 12th Street ramp was temporarily closed on I-29 as authorities investigated the crash.

Police say the northbound on-ramp at Interstate 29 and W. 12th Street in Sioux Falls has been reopened after a motorcycle crash early Tuesday morning.

Sergeant Scott Van Roekel with the Sioux Falls Police Department said the ramp was closed around 1:00 AM while authorities investigated the single-vehicle crash.

It's unclear if there are any injuries at this time.
