SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KSFY) - An Iowa promoter is working to save RibFest in Sioux Falls.
Riverfront Promotions will be in town next week to meet with former sponsors and look at the W.H. Lyon Fairgrounds, which has hosted the event since 2014.
Several rib vendors have reached out to Riverfront to save the 20-year-old event.
Jodi Schwan from SiouxFalls.Business said Riverfront could be a great fit for the event.
"They know how to do it," she said. "They have a venue in the fairgrounds, they have some dates in mind, so we'll have to see if it all comes together, but I am feeling optimistic that RibFest could be returning this year."
Back in January, SMG Sioux Falls and Pepper Entertainment decided to put an end to RibFest due to limited resources.
