GOODWIN, S.D. (KSFY) - Powerful winds, ice, and snow whipped across much of the area last week leaving some without power or even ways to travel.
Some South Dakota farmers were hit hard during the storm, including one local dairy farmer in Goodwin.
MoDak Dairy Farm lost nearly 200,000 pounds of milk during the storm costing the farm a days worth of profit. The trucks that haul the milk were pulled off the road due to closures and deteriorating conditions.
Every single pound of milk was poured down the drain.
The farm has 2,000 head of cows and has been operating in the area for years.
