Local teen stars in MythBusters Jr. premiere Wednesday night

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KSFY) - MythBusters Jr. is a reboot of the popular original MythBusters, but this time, a Sioux Falls teen is a star on the show.

"We got to check out a bunch of really cool stuff that I never thought was possible," Allie Weber said.

Weber is a Sioux Falls teen who stars in the series with host Adam Savage and five other kids.

"It was actually really interesting because there was a talent agency looking for kids with STEAM backgrounds...I did a couple Skype interviews after they contacted me, and I ended up getting the job, I was really excited," she said.

It isn't surprising she got the job. From being the KSFY Kid Expert at a young age, to being named by 3M as one of the top 10 young scientists in the country, Allie is a multiple award-winning, patent pending inventor, builder, and maker.

The show premieres Wednesday, January 2 on Science Channel.
