SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KSFY) - A former candidate for Sioux Falls mayor is now rubbing elbows with former presidents.
Jolene Loetscher was accepted to the Presidential Leadership Scholars program.
She is the first South Dakotan selected for the program.
Over the next several months, she will join 59 of the nation's greatest change makers in sessions at various presidential centers and libraries.
"To be able to spend time learning from, listening to former presidents, their cabinet members, some of the country's most respected academic leaders in policy and economics, it's just amazing," she said.
Loetscher said she wants to find ways to continue to serve and make her community stronger.
She also hopes to share the story of South Dakota and Sioux Falls with her fellow scholars.
