Macy's holding National Believe Day benefiting Make-A-Wish

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KSFY) - The magic of Macy's Believe Campaign returns for the 11th year to celebrate the season giving, all while benefiting Make-A-Wish.

On Friday, Macy's is doubling donations to Make-A-Wish for each letter to Santa collected in stores or online.

Many area schools have been hosting letter-writing campaigns, including Mitchell High School.

Students collected more than 2,000 letters from the community.

"I feel like it's something to makes a kid's dream come true," senior Caitlyn Weins said. "If they have something or their chronically ill or anything like that it can make that kid's dream come true by having their wish come true."

Macy's has donated more than $112,000,000 to Make-A-Wish since 2003, including more than $17 million through its annual Believe Campaign.
