Man arrested on burglary and weapon charges following 2nd search warrant

A 43-year-old man is behind bars on burglary and weapon charges following a search warrant executed in eastern Sioux Falls.

The intersection of 18th Street and Blaine Avenue remains blocked off as multiple law enforcement agencies execute a second search warrant tied to the arrest of Mark Einerwold.

Einerwold faces multiple counts including burglary, property damage and two counts of possession of a controlled weapon with additional charges possible.,

Police tell KSFY News they removed several types of guns for his car. They evacuated part of the area but say there is no threat to the public at this time. Sergeant Josh Phillips expects officers to remain on-scene for, at least, a few more hours.

"On things like this, we trying to really make everything safe for the officers and the public, so we're just - it's really a slow process - there's no rush - we have the people in custody that we need in custody and we want to make sure we get everybody out safely and find them a place to go. so we're in no rush and this thing could go on for some time," Sgt. Josh Phillips said.
