UPDATE: Police release victim's name in fatal car crash in Sioux Falls

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KSFY) - UPDATED Sept. 10 5:08 p.m.

Sioux Falls police have identified the victim in a fatal car crash near Harmodon Park.

Police say 22-year-old Nicolas Santos, from Sioux Falls, died in the Sept. 6 crash. Santos was a passenger in the single-vehicle crash.

The driver's name has not been released.

Public Information Officer Sam Clemens said the investigation is still on-going.

Sioux Falls police are still investigating a fatal car crash near Harmodon Park.

The crash occurred Friday afternoon, just south of 41st Street on Veterans Parkway when a vehicle left the roadway and rolled.

The 28-year-old driver was taken to a local hospital for non-life threatening injuries. A 22-year-old passenger in the car died at the scene.

Public Information Officer Sam Clemens said neither speed, alcohol or drugs are believed to be factors in the crash. The driver has not been charged in the crash, Clemens added.

Police said they hope to have more information after completing a reconstruction of the crash.

Sioux Falls Police say a 22-year-old man has died following a one car accident on Friday afternoon.

Investigators say a vehicle left the roadway in the area of 41st Street and Veterans Parkway then rolled over into an area just outside of the softball fields at Harmodon Park.

The man who died was a passenger in the vehicle. Police say the driver sustained minor injuries and was taken to a local hospital.

The investigation into this crash continues tonight. Police say they expect to have information to release on Monday.
