Mash Madness winner announced in Downtown Sioux Falls competition

DOWNTOWN SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - Fernson Brewing Company has been named the winner of the 3rd annual Mash Madness. People were able to try one beer from Fernson, Monk's, Remedy Brewing Company and WoodGrain Brewing Co. until March 17th. Then, they would vote for their favorite with a punch card.

DTSF, Inc. received double the amount of cards from 2018's competition. Fernson's Seed Series #035 Pomegranate & Hibiscus Sour came out on top.

"We’re happy that Downtown Sioux Falls, Inc. puts on an awesome event that brings all the breweries together in a friendly competition. We love everybody in the brewery community so when we're pitted against each other it’s always a fun competition. We want to thank everybody who came out and tried the beers and we’re glad they enjoyed it,” says Evan Richards, Fernson Brewing Company Marketing Director.

The brew will remain on top through Saturday, March 30th, which is Fernson's last day in the North Weber location. Fernson will display the traveling trophy in its new location at 12th & Phillips Avenue, which is set to open this spring. The brewery will be in the former Bros Brasserie restaurant space.

In the brewery's old location on North Weber, Books n Brewz Pizzeria will take over, and will also occupy the adjoining former Breadico space. A late April opening date is planned. Books n Brewz Pizzeria is described on its Facebook page as a bar with a bookstore and pizzeria. There will be karaoke and open mic nights to support local talent.
