Memorial Middle School student found with knife at school

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KSFY) - A 14-year-old boy was arrested Monday for bringing a pocket knife to Memorial Middle School.

Sioux Falls Police said toward the end of the school day, school staff observed the student on a cellphone, which is against school policy. Administration then called him to the front office, asked him to empty his pockets and found that he was also in possession of a folding knife with a 4-inch blade.

No one was threatened or injured during the incident, police said. The students has since then, been suspended and charged with having a weapon on school grounds.
