Missouri college students volunteering at LifeScape over spring break

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KSFY) - Students from the University of Missouri are spending their spring break in Sioux Falls, but they are not here as tourists.

The group is doing volunteer work with LifeScape, which offers support for local people with disabilities.

And while South Dakota may not be the top destination of choice for a spring break trip, these students said there is nowhere they would rather be than in Sioux Falls making a difference.

"It's really awesome," University of Missouri senior Kasey Fleming said. "It's actually the first time we've ever served at LifeScape within our program, and we didn't really know what it was going to be like going into it, but it's been beyond our expectations."

The students are here through the Mizzou Alternative Breaks program, and are helping people at LifeScape put together a play.
