Several Sioux Falls organizations commemorated Vietnam Veterans Day.
The Disabled American Veterans organization hosted an open house Friday.
Veterans were invited to display their memorabilia during the open house.
The veterans were also presented pins observing the 50th anniversary of the Vietnam War.
The open house also included a presentation on the new South Dakota state veterans' cemetery, which will be constructed in Sioux Falls.
"Right now, the closest one is actually out in Sturgis, the VA Black Hills National Cemetary or Fort Snell up in Minneapolis, so this will be much closer that veteran families won't have to go that distance to see their loved ones," DAV Treasure Gene Murphy said.
This past Wednesday, President Trump signed a proclamation designating every March 29th as National Vietnam War Veterans Day.
