SIOUX FALLS (KSFY) - No one was hurt when a small plane crashed just north of Sioux Falls.

The crash happened just after 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday. According to the Minnehaha County Sheriff's Office, two people were on board. Neither was hurt in the crash.

The plane went down in a corn field about a mile north of the Sioux Falls Regional Airport, just north of Catfish Bay.

The pilot of the plane was practicing approaches, and did not intend to land at the Sioux Falls airport. Sheriff Mike Milstead says the plane had mechanical issues, and that forced an emergency landing. The plane remained upright during the landing.
