SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KSFY) - Police say an impaired teenage driver hit multiple cars along Augustana University Tuesday night.
Public Information Officer Sam Clemens said the 16-year-old boy was driving south on Grange Avenue around 11:50 p.m. when he crossed traffic and hit four parked cars facing north near 31st Street.
It is unknown how fast the boy was driving.
Each vehicle, including a 2006 GMC Envoy, a GMC Sierra, a 2013 Mercedes Benz and a 2000 Ford F150, had "disabling" damage, meaning they cannot be driven, Clemens said.
During the investigation, police found prescription pills and marijuana inside the boy's car.
Officers charged the teenager with DWI, possession of a controlled substance and possession of marijuana. He was taken to JDC and released to a parent.
Clemens said alcohol was not involved in the crash.
