Police: Man found with stun gun, meth, 18 fake $100 bills

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KSFY) - Police say a Sioux Falls man has been arrested on multiple charges after he was found with a stun gun, meth and 18 fake $100 bills.

Public Information Officer Sam Clemens said the incident began as a well-being check Saturday around 1 a.m. in the 3500 block of South Gateway Boulevard at the Red Roof Inn parking lot.

When police approached 30-year-old Joshua Michael Hamilton, he fled, Clemens said. Police followed him to another hotel parking lot.

Clemens said Hamilton kept trying to reach into his pocket as the officer grabbed him.

Once backup arrived, police found a stun gun and a small amount of meth. Later in jail processing they found 18 fake $100 bills.

All 18 bills had the same serial number, Clemens said. Federal authorities will take over the investigation into the fake bills.

It is unknown why the call came in as a well-being check.
