Police looking for suspects who beat, stabbed man at Sioux Falls apartment

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KSFY) - Police say a man has serious but non life-threatening injuries after he was beaten and stabbed by three men.

Public Information Officer Sam Clemens said an officer drove by an apartment in the 500 block of S. Summit Ave. just after midnight Friday and heard someone yelling.

The officer saw the 26-year-old victim walking away from the building bloody and with a stab wound to his back. The knife punctured the man's lung, Clemens said.

The victim told police he went to the apartment with a woman. Once inside, three men allegedly jumped him. They took his backpack of belongings and fled.

The officer saw one suspect run from the building and found him breaking into an unoccupied apartment.

Police arrested 38-year-old Sioux Falls resident Allan David Gilbert Jr. for aggravated assault, robbery and unlawful occupancy.

Police are still looking for the woman and the other two men. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 367-7007.
