SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KSFY) - A report says 2017 was a great year for the Denny Sanford PREMIER Center.
Officials with the venue announced the report Wednesday.
It saw an increase in attendance for the third straight year. Overall attendance reached more than 709,000 and a net operating income of nearly $2.1 million.
City officials are already looking forward to another great year in 2018.
"The touring industry actually is getting better in 2018 -- about a 30 percent increase with traffic, and you can see that by what's happening in the building," Terry Torkildson, PREMIER Center general manager, said. "We've already announced or hosted 15 concerts, which by this time in the year is a phenomenal feat."
Officials said there were a total of 18 sold-out events last year, including Eric Church, Twenty-One Pilots, Foo Fighters and nine sold-out shows from Garth Brooks.
