SDSU to adopt smoking and tobacco free campus policy by 2018

BROOKINGS, S.D. (KSFY) - South Dakota State University President Barry Dunn has told students that the school is formalizing a policy to make the campus smoke free by the beginning of 2018.

Back in August, Dunn sent out an email to all staff and students requesting input on a draft for a smoking and tobacco free campus. He said there was an "overwhelming" amount of support in favor of the policy.

Dunn said he has asked the Office of General Counsel to begin the process to finalize and obtain final university adoption of the policy, and hopes to promote a healthy environment for everyone who attends, works, and visits SDSU.
